Hi my friends, today I want to write about my English class. I have had English class since 2011, when I was 12 years old. Before I had French class (because my school was French, its name was La Girouette).

For me learn about languages is difficult, it is very hard for me. I think the reason it is that I am shy and embarrassed about speak in other language because I want not get wrong when I talk. But this years with Miss Rosa like teacher I am learning a lot, I think that the most important thing that I am learning it is specifically to make question without embarrassed.

 I like very much the English class at university because this are very interactive (But I think that with 3 hours continuous of class the students end very exhausting). Also I like very much to do the blog in class because it is entertaining, I learn a lot and I can read the opinion of different things of my classmate.

I should be improved of my English my vocabulary (I know not much words in this language), my orthography, my pronunciation and my listening comprehension. I think that watching TV series with the audio in English and with also subtitle in this language can help me to learn other words and learn what I am listening. Also I should be read in English.

Outside English class I do not use very often this language but I know that it is important for many things and many situations.

Hi my friends today I want to write about some changes that I would like to do in my study programme of my career (sociology):

First, about the curriculum I think that the students should have more class with other career and in other department. And also I think that the students of sociology have a lot of obligatory subjects and not many electives subjects, If I could, I would change that.

Also I think that the amount of work of the university is a lot, and the teachers should put attention on the students, so that they do not have a big quantity of workload for their mental health (or that the academic request of the subjects should be proporcional to the numbers of credits). Because these days there are a lot of young people with depression and anguish for the demands of their respective university career.

About the faculty facilities of FACSO I think that it should have a study room, for the students to study in groups, or do team work. And also I think that FACSO should have a cafeteria like the "filosofía y humanidades" faculty or ICEI. (I want to say that I like the building of the faculty a lot, I like its "graffiti very much).

Also I think about my teachers that they are very good! I learn a lot with them. But I think that their teaching methods should be more dynamic, and with more participation of the students. For example they have to make more questions and also have more situation of dialogue.

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?

my opinion about the abortion is that it should be legal in all cases, I disagree about legalizing abortion only in three condition as it is in Chili. the law about the three condition began in 2017, in the government of Michelle Bachelet. Only it was not sanctioned when the mother was in risk of life, when there are fetal infeasibility or for a violation. I think that should be possible to do an abortion in other cases, for example only because the mother can not or to not want to  have a child.  In the country there are many abortions for this reason of clandestine and secret form. I think that the government  must give "security" and support the women that have an abortion for that reason so that they do not put their lives in danger.

What is your opinion about recycling?

I think that recycle is a very important action and this action has a very important impact in all the world.  The human species have produced and now produce  a lot of trash and we as society should be taking responsibility of this situation. In my family we recycle EVERYTHING. All the month we go to the "clean point" and we classify all the rubbish. And also in my house we have a "compost", there we put all the organic waste. For me and my family is very important to do this because we want to "help" the planet.

 Hi my friends today I want to write about a postgraduate course that I would consider taking in the future. Sincerely I don't know, because I have many options and all are very different. One of my options is to do a postgraduate about Latin american study. I would like to do this study outside the country, for example in Mexico or Colombia. For me it would be an excellent experience and also I have never been to this country, for that would be a good excuse to know them and go down.

Some subject that I want to Study in this postgraduate are: globalization and flow of migrants in Latin American; Independence and colony of the country of Latin American; study of gender with a Latin American perspective; culture and tradition; aboriginal of the zone; etc. I would like to study in a part-time course.

The reason about why I would like to take the decision about doing this course, is because I am very interesting in the Latin American identity. I want to know the different and similarity between the diverse zone of the continent. And also because my grand-mother maternal was Mapuche, I want to know and discover my own history, and I think that the course can help me with this "mission".

TV Show

hi my friends! today I want to write about my favorite TV show. This is Friends, it is a American TV series. the creador and productor was Marta Kauffman (and also David Crane). The first transmission was the 22nd September 1994.

the series is about the life of 6 people that live in New York City. These people are friends among them. they are the main characters of the program. Their names are Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribanni, Chandler Bing and Ross Geller. My favorite characters is Phoebe, because she is very funny, likable and entertaining. Also I like her because I think that her personal history is very interesting; for example when Phoebe was little, she lived in the street alone, because her mother was dead.

My favorite episode is the ninth of the eighth season, its name is "the one with the rumor". I love this episode because Brad Pitt acts as special invited. this episode happened in Thanksgiving Day.  

I like to watch this series because it is very funny but at the same time it is relaxing and calm. also because the seasons are short (the seasons have a duration of 20 minutes approximately, I detest the series with season very long).

Hi my friends! Today I want to write about a person I would have liked to meet. This person is Vicent Van Gogh. He was a Duchman painter, and he was a very important exponent for the post-impressionism movement. Van Gogh died the 29 July 1890, when he was 37 years old. I admire this person because I love his art,  I like his paintings very much, especially 4: Sunflowers, starry night, blossoming almond tree and his self-portrait.

Van Gogh was a really emotional person, very intense. In 1888 he had a fight with Paul Gauguin (Gauguin was a friend of Van Gogh, He was also a painter), when the discussion ended, Van Gogh was  so frustrated than decided to cut  his ear. Van Gogh  is also famous for this act. This episode evidenced the emotional instability  (some people think that he was crazy). 

The quality of his art was appreciated and recognized after his death. at the present, he is considered like one of the master of the history of painting. 

today there exists a lot of films about Vicent Van Gogh life. for example, Van Gogh: Painted with words,  Loving Vicent, etc.

I think that his life was very interesting. And for that reason I would have loved to be part of his life.

when I was 12 years old my favorite musical band was Calle 13. The singer's name of the band was Rene Perez (alias Residente) and the composer´s name was Eduardo Cabra Martinez (alias Visitante), they are half-brothers.

The year 2014 this Band came to Chile and they did an incredible concert, THE BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE!!!  the concert was held in Santiago (Chile), specifically in the nacional stadium. It was my first concert that I went without my parents, I went with my friends. For this reason I think I really like this concert. With my friends, we were fans of this group. 

In this concert Rene Perez sang the album "entren los que quieran" and this is my favorite album, and when they played the song "muerte en Hawai" me and my friends started to cry. For me, this song was very emotional, because my boyfriend dedicated this song to me (now I listen to this song and I laugh, It is a funny memory).

Hi my friends! today I want to write about a country that I would like to go. This country is Spain, specially I want to visit Barcelona. My grand-father was born in this city, for this reason I want to go there. My Grand-father tells me a lot about this city. He says this is a beautiful town. 

if I travel to Barcelona, I will visit the park guell, la sagrada familia and  la casa de Batlló. Also I want to go all over in the city.

my dream of life is to study in this city, specifically in the Barcelona university.  If I study in Barcelona, I will learn to speak Catalan. I want  to learn this language so much!

Also in Spain I want to visit the capital -Madrid-, Sevilla and Toledo. If I go to Madrid, I will visit the Prado Museum and the center of art reina sofía. 

I love the traditional food of this country, I love to eat Tapas and papas bravas, It is so good!!!!

HI!

My name is Barbara Danús Vigh, I am 20 years old, I was born the 3rd of February 1999 and I study sociology, I am in the second year of the career and I am very happy with this.

I have many expectation about this subject, because I want to learn English so much. Since I had my first English class (when I was 12 years old) I am afraid of this language.  I am very insecure with the English language (and with other for example French, my school was French and all my classes were in French).

Hi my friends!! Today I want to talk about my favorite subject; it is social history of Latin America.  The teacher is Carlos Ruiz Encina – also, he is one of the most important ideologists of the frente amplio.


The class is not very interactive, the teacher more than anything TALKS (he does not use power point and hardly ever utilizes markers)
I like this subject because the contents are very interesting. In this subject, I have learned Latin America as a unit, the process that the different countries have in common. In the class, Carlos Ruiz taught about the colony and independence of the American countries, and also its myths.It still lacks the contents about the XX century Latin American and this continent in the present.  I want so much to learn this!!!!     I have to admit one thing, I am a little angry with the teacher because he has not graded the test yet!  :c :c :c And I need to know my mark!!!!! I need to know if I will be exempt from the final test.

Barbara danus

Hi my friends, I want to talk about Carlos Ruiz Encina, I admire him, because he is one of the most important ideologist of the frente amplio, a Chilean politic coalition, he is activist in the political movement Izquierda Autonoma.  Carlos Ruiz was born in Santiago,Chile in 1964, he is the son  of the sociologist  Eduardo Ruiz Gallardo. Carlos Ruiz is also a Sociologist and he has a PhD about Latin-American, he is an academic of the Universidad de Chile.

Carlos Ruiz has written a lot of books and reviews. My favorite book of him is “Conflicto social en el neoliberalismo avanzado. Análisis de clase de la revuelta estudiantil en Chile” this book was made public in 2013. This book is a study of the Chilean student movement in 2011.

 I like Ruiz because I like his ideological approach and his analysis about the Chilean democracy. He also is a good teacher; his classes are very dynamic and entertaining.  He has done a lot of interview and I saw one about the appearance of the “ultra-right”, it was amazing.

Hi my friends, today I want to write about one of my favorite movies.  It is Los edukadores. It is a German movie, written and directed by Austrian Hans Weingartner in 2004. It was nominated for the Palme d'Or as best film of 2004 at the Cannes Film Festival. The genre of the film is drama and action.  The main character of the movie is Daniel Brühl (a German actor) and other important actors are Julia Jentsch and Stipe Erceg.

The storyline of the Movie is about two friends who are dedicated to go into the houses of people with high economic power, with the objective to leave signs that someone entered their property to make them feel insecure. These friends call themselves "Edukadores" and define themselves as critics of the capitalist system.

I saw this movie a long time ago. I think seven years ago. I remember that I loved the storyline, I was very connected and interested in the story of the film, I was in many tensions when I saw it.  For these things I like “los edukadores”

 I love so much the movies!!
